Jacket for a 6 x 9" book, printed in three
spot colors
Most of the jackets I design at the University
Press of Kansas are three-color jobs. We publish mostly history
books, and in most cases cover images are historical photos
provided by the author of the book, as was the case with this
image of the soldiers with the Himalayas in the background.
I created some graphic elements based on traditional Chinese
lattice designs to convey the location of the story, and also
to invoke the maze-like complexity of the espionage operations
detailed in the book.
